David has been riding horses since he was six years old. After growing up in the Melbourne suburb of West Heidelberg, he and his wife Karyn moved into the hills of Kinglake West. David was introduced to the Western style of riding back in the late 1970`s by a friend who happened to attend a show. It was not long after this he decided he wanted to be part of this industry.
It was the year 1980 that saw David travel to the United States where he spent time with well-known trainer Bob Wallace. On his return to Australia David decided to start training horses part-time. It was not long after this that results started to come his way, however, it was not until the 1990`s that he began making a real impact on the Western Industry by winning all of the major events on the calendar not only once but several times.
David continues to train and shows in all the western events and has won consistently at every major show throughout Australia. He travels Australia wide, holding clinics throughout the year, teaching people his training techniques.
David has been invited to conduct 2 clinics at Equitana and in 2008 was invited with his daughter Courtney to demonstrate in front of 5000 people the event of Western Riding, Western Pleasure and Reining. |
